Resistance Whispers, “It’s Already Been Done. Why Bother?”

For a long time, I hesitated to share my photography.“There are already so many photographers out there.” Everyone has a camera. Everyone has an Instagram. There are millions of websites, galleries, portfolios. “Who needs one more?”

But that wasn’t logic talking—it was Resistance.

Steven Pressfield describes Resistance as that invisible force that tries to stop us from doing the creative work we’re meant to do. It doesn’t yell. It whispers. It sounds like humility. It wears the mask of practicality.

And for a while, I listened to it. I kept my photos tucked away on hard drives. I let the doubt convince my “lizard brain,” a reference made by Seth Godin, that my point of view didn’t matter. That the world had enough images already, and mine wouldn’t add anything meaningful.

But eventually, something shifted.

I realized that while yes—it’s all been done before—it hasn’t been done by me.

No one else has lived my story. No one else stands where I stand, sees what I see, feels what I feel when the light hits the land or water or sky just so. No one else has my lens, not just in the camera—but in the heart.

So, I built Blue Wolf Gallery.

I started sharing my photographs and stories. Not because the world was waiting for another website—but because I was done waiting for permission.

And something amazing happened: people responded. They wrote to me. They connected with the images. They felt something. Some people even told me the photos and stories helped them see their own lives in a refreshing new way.

That’s when I knew: What I had to offer wasn’t meant to compete for attention. It was meant to connect.

If you’re sitting on something—a dream, a project, a body of work—because you’re afraid it’s “already been done,” I hope this reminds you:

It’s been done—but not by you. And your version just might be the one someone out there needs.
