The 49th annual Lake Tahoe Concours d'Elegance / Mahogany Madness at its Best. This year showcasing classic wood boats of the 60's. Stunning. Meticulous. Jaw-dropping. Heart pounding craftsmanship, gracing the slips at Obexer's Boat Company on Lake Tahoe's West Shore. Here’s a sample of boats from this year, photos taken on Saturday, August 12th.
Olson Bridge at Roar Off
At 4pm, the iconic grand finale takes place. The stirring, vigorous sound of engines starting, like thoroughbreds stinging under a spur, so restless they can hardly stay at their slips.
Then begins their exit from their scuderia under Olson Bridge, what's known, appropriately so, as the Roar Off. And one by one these glamorous wood boats part Obexer's Boat Company, that ever afterwards makes any other boat seem tame.
