“The moment one gives close attention to anything, even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome, indescribably magnificent world in itself.” ~ Henry Miller
I’m as blown away today by the magic and mystery around me in Lake Tahoe as I was as a kid hopping around pot holes and hills on Cat Island.
Cutlass Bay, Cat Island
Anyone who has visited Cat Island or Lake Tahoe can confirm they experienced awe in the presence of the natural world.
Greenwood Beach, Cat Island
I do my best to capture and share this emotion in my photos and stories. But while idyllic seascapes, landscapes, and Lake views are easy on the awe-meter, they’re hardly one's emotions only tonic.

We can experience awe in architecture and design, in the arts, in words, in food, and in human accomplishment. It’s all around us and in us.

No matter how restricted your world may become, never lose your sense of wonder, your sense of awe.

"Soon my Angel came again;
I was arm'd, he came in vain:
For the time of youth was fled
And grey hairs were on my head."
~ William Blake
Look around! There's mystery and beauty to the left. There's magic and elegance to the right. It's everywhere.

Look within. You're a marvel of extrordinary! Return to your youthful thinking. Find the mystery, the beauty, the magic and the elegance around you and within you - and you'll realize the greatest prize worth fighting for is your sense of wonder, your birthright.

“The most beautiful thing we can experience is the mysterious. It’s the source of all true art and science. He to whom the emotion is a stranger, who can no longer pause to wonder, and stand wrapped in awe, is as good as dead —his eyes are closed.” ~ Albert Einstein
